Coverage for Unscheduled Jewelry

Women own many pieces of jewelry and not all of them are worth as much as their engagement ring. But if you have lower-valued jewelry and you want them insured also, it is possible to add them to your policy. There is a option called “unscheduled jewelry” and this is where you would list those items. This is where you can have them under a limited coverage and they will be insured for $1,000 or less.
The rate for this type of insurance is $15 per $1,000 of value and that goes up to $5,000 of total limit. This option can be added to your already existing policy in $1,000 increments and without an insurance appraisal. A deductible of $100 goes with this coverage.
You must have at least one piece of jewelry scheduled on your current policy to qualify for this coverage. Jewelry insurance is based on the retail replacement value of the item as well as the state or province where you live. Inspections are a great opportunity to have your jewelry cleaned and make that engagement ring shine as bright as the day it was given to you.
